BELLA TV was one of the media guests at the first POPSUGAR Play/Ground Festival! PopSugar kicked off the festival at Pier 94 in NYC with captivating panels. The weekend event featured provocative panel conversations, workout classes, brand activations, a shopping bazaar, and live music!

The mornings kicked off with energetic workouts that led to a packed house of attendees. There were two stages featuring panel conversations throughout each day with Kate Hudson who spoke to Sara and Erin Foster on “Redefining the Pursuit of Happiness,” Mindy Kaling who discussed “Why Smart Girls Win” with Elaine Welteroth. Tiffany Haddish had the entire crowd in tears with laughter during her panel, “The Last Laugh,” with fellow comedian Amanda Seales.
Yara Shahidi spoke with Essence’s Cori Murray on a panel titled “Passion to Action.” She spoke beautifully on the importance of young people getting involved in their communities, telling the audience, “Wonder what you can learn from others who you admire. In the age of social media you should be reaching out to people who you look up to but might not know.” She went on to say, “Make sure you take on larger issues with every person in mind. Don’t force people to split their identity in order to support something good.”
Other notable conversations included Kayla Itsines, Katie Stevens, and Martha Hunt addressing the topic of how to “Power Your Happy” and a conversation on “The Power of Beauty” with beauty mogul Charlotte Tilbury and POPSUGAR Founder, Lisa Sugar. The Scream Queens’ panel with the casts of Riverdale, TheFlash, and Legends of Tomorrowhad fans screaming for more. Cleo Wade moved the audience with a poetry reading, and Ariana Huffington gave a powerful keynote about how to make your life less stressful with “Digital Detox.” After a succession of inspirational speeches and intense workouts, each day wrapped with phenomenal performances from musical artist Tinashe on Saturday and Aluna Frances of Aluna George on Sunday.
There are a lot of amazing women’s events out there that offer beauty, wellness, music,and empowerment information, but the POPSUGAR Play/Ground Festival embraced all of the above. With thousands of women under one roof, we created moments of laughing, learning, and pure joy. POPSUGAR gave us the freedom to be carefree and be our authentic selves!
