Bella TV sat down with Nick Hissom to discuss his musical sound and path from rejection to success in the competitive music industry. As a UPENN graduate, Hissom used his smarts to create his independent label, MASSIVE, distributed by RED and Sony Music. Inspired by musical drive, Hissom released his new single “He Ain’t Better” in the summer of 2017, surpassing over 1 million streams on Spotify in its first month. The pop hit landed Hissom iHeart Radio’s Emerging Artist Award, alongside Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.

Riding the success of the single, Hissom spent this summer promoting the remix of “He Ain’t Better,” featuring Zoey Dollaz (signed to Hip Hop Artist, Future, and Roc Nation), which debuted worldwide. Hissom’s sound is a fusion of urban and pop music that lends to a unique Miami sound, keeping fans tuned in. Although Hissom is from London, he prides himself on traveling the world and making music in different cities, including his new hometown, Miami.

The debut album #FarFromHomeis expected for release in late 2018. The album features Rick Ross, Bryson Tiller, and Scott Torch and was executive produced by Steve Morales (who was responsible for producing greats like Celine Deon, Enrique Englesias, Christina Aguilera, and more). Hissom, along with Morales, finally conquered the impossible — creating his new label and having a successful single climb the charts in a matter of weeks. Managers Larry Rudolph and Marty Bandier, CEO/Chairman of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, believe that “Nick Hissom will be the next heartthrob in the music industry, due to originality in his songwriting, lyrics, and personality”.

Hissom’s busy schedule of performances didn’t stop him from hitting the New York Fashion Week scene. He was spotted with some of the hottest designers and celebrities including Jeremy Scott, Ben Sherman, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Ali and Dina Lohan, Teresa Guidice, and Dorinda Medley from the HousewivesFranchise.

Hissom is no rookie when it comes to the modeling industry. At age 17, he signed with Ford Modeling Agency, securing successful modeling campaigns with Tommy Hilfiger and GQ. Hissom is currently the muse of Kai Z Feng.

When Hissom isn’t busy working on his music and modeling career, he gives his time to supporting charities such as The Lung Cancer Alliance, Gabrielle’s Angels Foundation, Las Vegas Rescue Center, and the Andre Agassi FoundationHissom is passionate about speaking against bullying and offering solutions to support anti-bullying campaigns such as Stomp Out BullyingStomp Out Bullying is a national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens.
